FROM DYSMORPHIA TO
"GENDER EUPHORIA"

KaBö is a multidimensional trans non-binary artist and a fluid spirit who gathers fragments of the world to reshape them into vibrant mythologies. Through a diverse practice including painting, sculpture, textiles, and multi-material creation, he merges symbols and ancestral patterns into a living cosmology—a colorful garden where archetypes awaken and the hidden becomes visible. His work is guided by the forces of astrology, shamanism, magic, and the eternal interplay between light and shadow.

Born in Mexico and shaped by a life of constant movement, KaBö’s artistic evolution has been deeply influenced by immersion in diverse cultures across the U.S., Europe, Brazil, Indonesia, and Africa. His journey is rooted in a fascination with the "in-between" spaces—the areas that exist between binaries and labels. This exploration began during a challenging youth marked by gender dysmorphia and a search for identity. During a long and dark period , he used art as a survival tool to process his discomfort and the "horror" he felt within his own skin, creating visceral works that served as an escape from reality.

KaBö’s professional path included working in Seattle with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). This experience opened portals into scenic design, stage construction, and costume creation, turning the performing arts into fertile ground for the deities and guardians that populate his inner world.

A profound transformation occurred in 2023 after a period of deep inner work, self-reflection, and experiences with ancestral medicine. The truth of his identity as a trans non-binary person became "unstoppably clear," leading to a state of gender euphoria. This shift has revolutionized his creative process, allowing him to transition from a place of hiding to one of embodied creativity. Today, he fully integrates movement, dance, and music into his work, viewing his body and his art as a single, harmonious expression.

With a 30-year devotion to the arts and hundreds of works sold internationally, KaBö’s journey is a testament to a life committed to creation. For him, creating is an act of reclamation and a homecoming—a way of making the invisible worlds within us visible and inviting others to remember who they were before they forgot.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I create from the place where myth and memory meet—a threshold between worlds. My art is a ritual, a spell, and a theatrical dance; a conversation between the seen and the unseen. I am fascinated by the ambiguity of identity and how it shifts, expands, and reveals itself.

My process is an act of embodiment. When I am in my body, I cannot help but create through movement and the manipulation of materials like textiles, and found objects. The figures in my work are not mirrors, but portals that invite viewers to explore their own shadows, desires, and the mystery beneath the surface of the self. My art embraces transformation: creatures shedding skin and masks falling away to reveal the pure essence of being"
